She began exploring the world of coding at age six.  Since that time, she's acquired an understanding of numerous aspects of the tech world . Among her achievements and qualifications, Alaina has worked with many projects of her own, including developing an Amazon Alexa app for her school district for which she was recognized. Senator Brian Fitzpatrick worked to get a flag flown in her honor on Capitol Hill. She’s also spoken at international universities about her research on topics such as AI and ChatGPT.  Alaina’s an AWS certified Cloud Practitioner and regularly writes blogs about various tech topics. She has experience teaching eight week courses at Bucks County Libraries and was previously the president of a coding enrichment club at her school.  Code Yogis: Robotics New to Warwick Township, this program is a multi-month program focused on helping school-age kids learn the benefits of robotics, a flourishing branch of computer science. Members will learn to build robots using Olympic-grade robotic equipment, program them, and experiment with various sensors, diverse projects, and more. This team-oriented program fosters collaboration, engineering, programming, and fun! The one-of-a-kind experience will prepare kids for robotics/AI careers, computer science jobs, and Olympic robotics teams. In order to register for this program, the registrant must either pass the Code Yogis Coding Fundamentals Gold assessment or have completed the Code Yogis Coding Fundamentals course. If you would like to take the Coding Fundamentals assessment, please reach out to Kristen Belles (kbelles@warwickbucks.gov) after completing your registration. This program is set to run monthly beginning in April and going through May, June ,August, Sept and Oct with a break in July. Participants will need to register for each month, should they desire to participate for the entire program.   * A non-refundable, one-time equipment fee of $50.00 is due to the instructor on the first day of the program* Code Yogis: Coding Fundamentals Gold This program focuses on laying a strong foundation for technology and future coding. With a basic understanding of hardware, circuitry, and electricity, kids can go on to obtain sensory knowledge and sharp analytical thinking skills. Scratching the surface of coding with MIT Scratch allows for a strong foundation in computer programming in an easy way for kids to understand. Expanding further with Pseudocode and diagrammatic programming students can learn the concepts of data, conditions and procedures to ensure their success in any tech concept they may pick up in the future. This 3-month program is the foundation for robotics, machine learning, and software, and prepares kids for any future endeavors in technology. This program is set to run monthly beginning in April and continuing in May and June. Should participants wish to participate in all 3 months, they must register for each month individually.
